Samposium 1.04 and Videos are Out Now!

Samposium 1.04 is here, and this is a big one. This release has been months in the making and touches nearly every part of the app — from a completely reworked sequencer, to new hardware control options, to a from-the-ground-up pass on performance. It’s big enough that it gets two full videos instead of one. Check them out below, and here’s the full rundown of everything that’s new.

– Sequencer Patterns
Sequences have grown up into Patterns — up to 8 independent slots (A–H) that you can
build and edit live, without ever stopping playback, so you can turn a single loop
into a full arrangement. New Clear Pattern / Clear All Patterns controls make
managing all of that fast.

– Bluetooth & MIDI Mapping
Samposium now supports Bluetooth MIDI controllers, and every MIDI mapping in your
project — pads, effects, sequencer transport, and pattern switching — lives on one
screen for the first time, showing exactly which controller each one is tied to.

– Multi-Instance AUv3
This one’s a bigger deal than it might sound: you can now run multiple instances of
the Samposium AUv3 plugin at the same time. Getting here meant pulling core systems
like UI state and MIDI handling out of the singleton patterns they were originally
built on — a real architectural overhaul, not a surface-level toggle. I’ll be putting
out a dedicated video on this one soon.

– Performance, Top to Bottom
A big chunk of this release was invisible on purpose. We moved old-style
dispatch-queue concurrency over to Swift’s modern concurrency model throughout the
app, ran multiple dedicated profiling passes to hunt down hot paths, and specifically
improved pad tap-to-play latency for a snappier feel. If Samposium just feels a
little tighter and more responsive in 1.04, that’s why.

– Quality of Life
New mute/solo indicator dots right on your sample pads show what’s muted or soloed at
a glance, and holding down the mute or solo button in the sequencer now brings up
Unmute All / Unsolo All shortcuts to clear everything at once.

– Bug Fixes
Fixed an Ableton Link toggle crash, fixed an infinite deadlock in the MIDI mapping
device list caused by scroll refresh, fixed the effects dropdown checkmark persisting
across pad switches, bulletproofed the Rate Our App path, and cleaned up misc layout
bugs and warnings.
