SYNTHFAM DSP — COMING SOON
Sequentive, our new MIDI step sequencer, is on track to release before the end of the year. It has its own page now, and you can try a small demo of how it works right there.
What Sequentive is
Sequentive is a polyrhythmic, generative MIDI step sequencer. Every lane has its own length and its own rate, so a 16-step lane and a 7-step lane start together, drift apart, and take a long while to line up again. That slow shifting is where the movement comes from.
On top of that, every step can have conditions, like a probability or a “play on the second loop of every four.” Patterns let you change the song without stopping it, and the generative tools can keep writing new notes within a key and scale you choose, while the steps you lock stay put.
Sequentive sends MIDI, so you pick the sound. It runs as a standalone app and as an AUv3 MIDI effect inside your host.
Our first Mac app
Sequentive is also the first SynthFam DSP app we’re launching on macOS. It runs on iPad, iPhone and Mac, so the same sequencer is there whether you’re on stage with a tablet or at your desk with a laptop.
Hear it first
We’ll share the release date as soon as it’s set. The easiest ways to find out first are the email sign-up at the bottom of the Sequentive page, or Discord, where you can also tell us what you’d like to see in it.
